Hello VNEA!
Most of our VNEA members have
their leagues in high gear this
time of year, plus there is a tour-
nament just about every weekend
for our player's to participate in
and share the camaraderie of the
game. These local tournaments
bring pool players together from
neighboring towns and there is
usually a Charity Benefit billed
as part of the tournament. A big
thanks to all our pool players for
their generosity. These weekend
tournaments create excitement
and sharpen the skills so we can
compete on state and national
levels. Sometimes we Operators
catch ourselves thinking that the
tournaments are too much work...
well get over it... because the
tournaments are the backbone
of the pool leagues. It's back to
that camaraderie thing again,
friends recruit friends, hence the
league's grow and our sport is
stronger.

As our pool players and pool
players around the globe make
plans for these state and interna-
tional tournaments ,they will be
doing just about anything to raise
money for travel and entries.
Drink specials, cue raffles, bands
and DJ's are all part of helping
your regional teams and players
attend these great events. It's
fun to watch and listen to these
players talk about all the fun they
have had in previous years at the
different tournaments. Start mak-
ing your Facebook memories
now!

Speaking of Facebook, check
out VNEA's Facebook and click
"Like". The VNEA Facebook
page will keep you informed on
the Tournaments and other up-
coming events. Feel free to add
comments and ask questions
because the more informed we
are, the better we like our sport
of pool. Facebook also con-
nects with younger players and
younger players are the future of
the game, so spread the word on
Facebook.

I would like to report that my
friend Wayne Herron has left his
position as League and Tourna-
ment Director of our company. I
wish Wayne the best in his next
endeavor in the Pool World.
Wayne is a very informed player
and director and "pool is his pas-
sion"
. He will be missed by the
players and operators in Min-
nesota. Please send an e-mail
to Dave Hawkins at: djhawkin@
charter.net
if you are in need of
a League or Tournament Director.
Wayne will be assisting me at the
VNEA Internationals at Bally's in
Las Vegas.

I will close now with a question to
all our players and operators of
the VNEA... "What are we do-
ing right?", "What are we doing
wrong?", "What can we do to
help your Leagues?"
. Send an
e-mail to: djhawkin@charter.net
or reply to our VNEA Facebook
page.

Thank you for your membership
and be sure to read the monthly
article "VNEA VISION" in the
Play Meter Magazine.
