8-Ball Rumble
Titles Declared!
November 17-20, 2011 · Partners
The
10th Annual 8-Ball Rumble was held at
Partners
Billiards & Bowling in North Bay, Ontario,
Canada on November 17-20, 2011. Players and teams
represented North Bay's Partners Pool Leagues, New
Crown Music Leagues from Sudbury, Northshore Vend-
ing of Sault Ste. Marie, Regent Vending from Ottawa,
Ontario Skill Games from Toronto and Les Agences
Simplex from Rouyn-Noranda.
A total of
72 Teams and 140 Singles took part in this
four-day event that has become one of Ontario's most
popular events of the year. What started out as a small
tournament a number of years ago has now grown into
a major event that fills to capacity.
This year's event saw the introduction of a new comput-
erized scoring system which was being used for the first
time in Ontario. Photographs of all players and teams
were taken and added into their player/team profiles
which included all of their individual and team stats.
This included games played, wins, losses, scores for
and against, ERO's for and against, etc. It was very well
received by the players and we are sure it will be the
standard for future tournaments in North Bay. Players
were able to view stats as well as schedules and photos
on their computers and laptops in real time. This gave
them the ability to see who they were playing next and
what the opponent(s) results were in the tournament.
Many volunteers put in many long hours to ensure that
this new scoring system worked well and the tourna-
ment ran smoothly because of their efforts. Our Referee-
In-Charge, Serge Ruel and the referees are also to be
commended for an excellent job. The software/scoring
system was provided by Compusport and having them
in attendance all weekend to teach us this system was
greatly appreciated. The system was incredible as was
the support they provided to us. All these individuals
played an important role in the success of this tourna-
ment and we truly appreciate their involvement.

of Ottawa then went on to defeat North Bay's Buddy
Jawbone and Ron Van Tassell. In his next outing, he
defeated third place finisher Jeff Sunstrum of North
Bay then in the quarter final, defeated Joanne Lavallee
of Sudbury. His opponent in the final was North Bay's
Bryan Spragget who came from the loser's side of
the bracket after defeating fellow North Bayite, Jeff
Sunstrum.
It took two sets in the final for Bull to claim the cham-
pionship in an exciting final. Spraggett won the first set
by a score of 3-0 to force a sudden death match. Bull
bounced back to take the title with a score of 3-1.

back and went on to win their next four matches and in
the semi-final defeated third place finisher Ball Move-
ment from Sault Ste. Marie.
Silver Division:
This division is for the "top guns" of pool. To make it
to the finals in this division the teams have to play well
with few misses. Sault Ste. Marie's Hookers did just
that. After coming from the loser's side of the bracket
they forced an overtime match in the final against North
Bay's Mong's Predators. Hookers won the first set 136
to 129 and the overtime match by a score of 137 to 108.
On their way to victory, Hookers won three consecutive
matches then were sent to the loser's bracket by Mong's
Predators. They then won their next two outings to
advance to the finals.

nals. Third place went to Missing In Action from Ottawa.
